Beijing Yixiao Technology Development Co., Ltd. (plaintiff) filed a lawsuit in People’s Court of Haidian District of Beijing against Leyuhudong (Beijing) Culture Communication Co., Ltd. (defendant). The plaintiff claimed that the defendant has implemented three unfair competition actions to the plaintiff and Xiaokan Software developed and managed by the defendant has imitated and plagiarized Kuaishou Software developed and managed by the plaintiff, and requested the defendant to stop the unfair competition actions immediately and make economic compensation. This case is the first short-video-related unfair competition case in People’s Court of Haidian District of Beijing. As one of legal representatives of the defendant, Mr. Zheng Hong attended the trial of the case.

After seven sessions during two years, People’s Court of Haidian District of Beijing made a civil judgment on September 18, 2017 which rejected all claims by the plaintiff for lack of sufficient facts and legal basis.
