China to participate in global IPR governance2022-11-07

China will actively participate in global intellectual property governance, and speed up cooperation with other economies in the field, so as to jointly promote a higher-level of IPR protection, said Pu Chun, vice-minister of the State Administration for Market Regulation, on Saturday.

He made the remarks during a parallel session on international cooperation in protecting IPR and fighting against infringement and counterfeiting at the fifth China International Import Expo that kicked off in Shanghai, on Saturday.

"The Chinese government has been attaching great importance to innovation and international cooperation in IPR, and is looking to create a market-oriented, law-based and international business environment," Pu said.

In the first three quarters of this year, a total of 29,800 cases of trademark infringement and patent counterfeiting were investigated and dealt with, according to the session.

"More efforts will be made to boost global IPR governance and crack down on infringements and counterfeiting, as well as strengthen international cooperation in the above fields," he added.
